The Diocesan Certificate of Catholic Studies (DCCS) is run by the MBIT on behalf of the Diocese of East Anglia.
The course is the initiative of Bishop Alan Hopes, who appreciated that it was not possible for all teachers working in catholic schools to gain the CCRS. The course acts as a good introduction to the CCRS, aiming to provide a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Faith and to enable all participants to make an informed contribution to their chosen field of work in the Church. The topics covered are: Old and New Testament, the Person of Christ, the Sacraments, The Church and Catholic Moral Teaching.
There is the possibility of gaining accreditation by completing a 2000 word assignment. All participants receive a certificate of attendance. The course can be run as INSET days for schools or as Twilight sessions.
The dates for 2018/19 are Thursdays 6 June, 13 June, 20 June, 3pm–6pm. These classes will take place at MBIT.
