Study Day: Introduction to the Dead Sea Scrolls and their Significance

Loading Events

The chance discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 brought to light the earliest known copies of the biblical books, as well as many previously unknown writings which offer a fascinating insight into the beliefs and practices of Jews at the time of Jesus. This study day will introduce these texts, and provide an opportunity to explore their significance for our understanding of early Judaism, early Christianity and the history of the bible.
