Employment and Vocational Pathways
When the Institute was established, one of the main questions asked was, ‘But what will they do with all this education and formation?’
This question is still a challenge for the whole Church. How will the Church enable collaborative ministry between priest and people? How will the baptismal calling of each Christian to become priest, prophet and king be realised? There are no easy answers, and the questions have become more, not less, urgent.
Living As Contemporary Roman Catholic Women
Our calling to serve the Church as lay people is made clear when we are baptised, and reinforced through the sacraments of communion and confirmation. Now the Pope is also calling for us to rediscover the ‘genius of women’.
‘The church can not be herself without the womanand her role. The woman is essential for the church… The feminine genius is needed wherever we make important decisions. The chalenge today is this: to think about the specific place of women also in those places where the authority of the church is exercised for various areas of the church’.
